13 games for original Xbox Backwards Compatibility coming tomorrow

Backwards compatibility has been one of the cornerstones for Xbox users, allowing them to play Xbox 360 games on their Xbox One. Back at E3 earlier this year at the Microsoft press conference, it was announced that Xbox One backwards compatibility would be expanding further back to the original Xbox. Meaning, titles from that system would eventually be playable on the Xbox One. It seems that time has finally come, as original Xbox titles are starting to appear on Microsoft’s “Games on Demand” section. This first wave will be available starting tomorrow, October 24th, and will begin with the following 13 titles:

  • Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic
  • Ninja Gaiden Black
  • Crimson Skies: High Road to Revenge
  • Fuzion Frenzy
  • Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time
  • Psychonauts
  • Dead to Rights
  • Black
  • Grabbed by the Ghoulies
  • Sid Meier’s Pirates!
  • Red Faction II
  • BloodRayne 2
  • The King of Fighters Neowave

Now if you happen to have the original disc, all you have to do is pop it in and the system will download it. If you don’t, it’s alright, as the games will be available for purchase at $9.99 each. While you’re probably wondering why someone would pay for any of these old games, it’s because they were actually some of the best to be released. Take Knights of the Old Republic for example, it’s one of Bioware’s best RPG’s to date in terms of story and gameplay. As well, Crimson Skies, Prince of Persia and Psychonauts are all great as too.
