Evangeline Lilly shares first photo in Wasp suit for ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp’

In honor of the late comic book artist Jack Kirby’s 100th birthday, actress Evangeline Lilly tweeted a photo of herself in the Wasp uniform from the set of the Ant-Man sequel, Marvel’s Ant-Man and the Wasp.

In the tweet, Lilly posted, “I am honoured to be on set today playing #TheWasp on what would be Jack Kirby’s 100th birthday. #ThankYouJackKirby” #AntManAndTheWasp

Kirby co-created the original Wasp, Janet van Dyne, with Stan Lee back in 1963. Lilly plays Hope, the second Wasp and the daughter of van Dyne (to be played by Michelle Pfeiffer) and Hank Pym (Michael Douglas). Hope was given the suit by her father at the end of Ant-Man and is set to fight alongside Ant-Man (Paul Rudd) in the second film.

Peyton Reed returns as director for the sequel. Michael Douglas and Michael Peña are also set to return as Hank Pym and Luis. Tip “T.I.” Harris and David Dastmalchian will also return as part of Lang’s crew – Dave and Kurt. Laurence Fishburne will join the cast as Dr. Bill Foster, a scientist who worked alongside Pym, and in the comics was Black Goliath and later became, Giant Man. Randall Park will play S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Jimmy Woo. Marvel’s Ant-Man and the Wasp are currently in production in Atlanta.

Marvel’s Ant-Man and the Wasp is set to release on July 6, 2018.
