Season 3 of Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma will premiere this coming Fall season. And luckily for fans, most of the Japanese cast remains the same. However, voice actress Risa Taneda, the voice of heroine Erina Nakiri for seasons 1 and 2 of Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma, has been on hiatus for the past year due to medical issues and will be unable to reprise her role for season 3’s recording sessions.

Thankfully, Taneda’s condition has been improving and her company has recently announced her recovery and return on August 4th, but Taneda will need to continue taking it easy with her throat for the next few months. Hisako Kanemoto, who previously voiced Erina in the episode, “Shugetsu no Meguriai,” will take on the role in Taneda’s place for Season 3.

In the meantime, while you’re waiting for Season 3, fans can catch the English dub for this popular series on anime streaming website HIDIVE. The English dub began streaming on HIDIVE on July 31st, with new episodes of the English dub to be released each Monday at 1:00 pm EDT.

The original anime adaptation for Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma first launched back in May-September 2015, with the second season airing from July-September 2016. The show focuses on Soma Yukihira, whose goal is to become a better chef than his father. Having grown up at his father’s restaurant, his plans are thrown for a loop when his father decides to close the family restaurant to pursue an overseas job. His father instead encourages his son to enroll in a culinary school. Talented and creative in the culinary arts, Soma is admitted to Japan’s top culinary school, Totsuki Culinary Academy, where he takes on cooking challenges against his peers and strives to the top.
