Mark Hamill finally receives star on Hollywood Walk of Fame
Mark Hamill has played one of the most iconic characters in motion picture history in the undisputed most iconic movie franchise ever. Besides playing Luke Skywalker in several Star Wars films, he’s also voiced the Joker in a number of DC projects. So, it’s a little shocking to discover that the 65-year-old actor doesn’t have a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Well, that’s about to change and rightly so.
The Walk of Fame Selection Committee of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce selected several entertainers from motion pictures, television, theater, radio and recording to receive stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The honorees were chosen from among hundreds of nominations at a meeting held in June and were revealed to the world on Thursday, June 22 via live stream exclusively on the official website www.walkoffame.com, beginning at 2:15 p.m. PDT.
Of course, Hamill made the list, no doubt pleasing millions of Star Wars fans. He was joined by a talented and eclectic group of entertainers which include Jeff Goldblum, Jennifer Lawrence, Gillian Anderson, Lynda Carter, Sir Richard Branson and Bernie Mac.
