Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite roster may have been leaked

Marvel vs Capcom: InfiniteIt looks like there’s another leak for Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite before Capcom could make an official announcement. NeoGAF user Ryce, the same user who previously leaked about the game’s development, has posted an almost complete list of characters we can expect to the see in the game on launch.

This list includes 13 Capcom characters and 14 Marvel characters:

Arthur – Ghosts ‘n Goblins
Chris – Resident Evil (confirmed)
Chun-Li – Street Fighter (confirmed)
Dante – Devil May Cry
Firebrand – Ghosts ‘n Goblins
Jedah – Darkstalkers
Monster Hunter – Monster Hunter series
Morrigan – Darkstalkers (confirmed)
Nemesis – Resident Evil
Ryu – Street Fighter (confirmed)
Spencer – Bionic Commando
Strider Hiryu – Strider (confirmed)
X – Mega Man X (confirmed)

Captain America (confirmed)
Captain Marvel (confirmed)
Doctor Strange
Hawkeye (confirmed)
Hulk (confirmed)
Iron Man (confirmed)
Rocket/Groot (confirmed)
Thor (confirmed)
Ultron (confirmed)

There is one slot missing for Capcom’s side. Ryce has stated that he isn’t aware who this character is but most likely it may be Frank West from Dead Rising. Royce also notes that Rocket Racoon is listed as Rocket/Groot. This is because it’s currently unknown if Groot will be a partner for Rocket in battle or if he will only appear in certain moves similar to an assist.

Missing Big Names

There are a few big names that are missing from the Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite list including Magento, Dr. Doom and of course Wolverine. Additionally, all three characters have been a huge part of the series since even before the Vs series was released. Wolverine is one character that has been in every single game from X-Men Children of the Atom (1994) to Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 (2011). It’d be a shame if they didn’t end up appearing at all, so here is hoping they appear as DLC characters.

In August, Marvel will be releasing a series of Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite variant covers inspired by and featuring characters from the upcoming fighting game. “Fight fans, if you can’t wait until September 19th to see heroes from two awesome universes collide in Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite, we’re bringing you a sneak peek one month earlier when the battle explodes onto the covers of your favorite comics,” said Marvel Games executive creative director Bill Rosemann. “The game makers at Capcom and Marvel are working closely with a team of the industry’s top talent to deliver all the over the top intensity you’ve come to expect from this fan favorite franchise.”

Some of these comics include Venom #153, Black Panther #17, Defenders #4, and Spider-Man/Deadpool #20. As a result, these may hint that we will see Venom, Black Panther, Deadpool and possibly Jessica Jones, Luke Cage or Iron Fist as future DLC.

Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite will be released on September 19th on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
