New Aquaman photo of Amber Heard as Mera should make fans happy

Amber Heard as Mera
DC and Warner Bros. have taken some liberties with the look of Arthur Curry, who’s played by Jason Momoa, in the DC Extended Universe. However, fans who prefer a character to look similar to the comic book counterpart should be happy with Amber Heard as Mera. Fans have seen the actress in character before for when the Justice League photo was released. Its colors were muted (thanks to Zack Snyder), but she can be seen wearing a crown. Now James Wan, who’s directing the upcoming Aquaman film, has released a colorful photo from the set. Mera has a new outfit, and she’s looking absolutely gorgeous.

Check out the photo below:

Here one can see that Heard has just stepped out of the water. The background is blurry, but it definitely looks like she’s on a pier with a boat behind her. And what’s with her facial expression? Is this her first time seeing Aquaman?

As for the comparison, here’s artist Stanley “Artgerm” Lau’s take on Mera. The film has captured her red hair and vibrant green, skin-tight outfit. Fans can also appreciate the scales.
