WonderCon 2017 – Kotobukiya Spring preview panel

Kotobukiya returns to WonderCon 2017 to showcase all of its upcoming releases for all of its various figure lines including the Bishoujo, ArtFx and ArtFX+. The panel kicked off with topics about a few different Star Wars pieces being released this year including a few that will be released exclusively at Star Wars Celebration. (It will be held in less than two weeks.)

Here is a quick look at the announcements:

Star Wars fans going to the Star Wars Celebration are able to pick up a few exclusive items at the event including ARTFX+ R4-M9, R5-D4 and 0-0-0 & BT-1 complete with a commemorative coin. It’s also going to be a huge year with various ArtFX and ArtFX+ statues featuring Rogue One and Force Awakens characters such as Obi-wan, Han & Chewbacca, Finn & Rey, Snowtrooper & Flametrooper, First Order Stormtrooper FN-2199, Poe and more.

It was announced that the Freddy and Jason Bishoujo statues would be getting a second release later this summer for those who missed out, but before then you will be able to add both Chucky and Tiffany from Child’s Play in the upcoming months, with The Bride from Kill Bill also set to release in June.

For those who prefer a classic look to their horror icons, a 1:6th scale Jason Voorhees ArtFX statue is set to release in July for $129.99.

Rainbow Mika is the next release in the Street Fighter Bishoujo line, while a silhouette of a new Chun-Li was teased at New York Toy Fair, the concept art was shown and looks pretty amazing. Chun-Li is expected to release in February of next year, so it’s going to be a bit of a wait.

Starting with a photo of the Merc with a Mouth wearing a huge pink wig, the Super Deadpool ArtFX Statue kicked off the upcoming Marvel releases with plenty of great pieces including a Punisher Fine Art Statue, a line of Spider-Man ArtFX+ statues featuring both Peter Parker, Miles Morales, Agent Venom, Spider-Gwen, Venom, Carnage and Venom alongside images of the upcoming Squirrel Girl and Kamala Khan (Ms. Marvel) Bishoujos.
