Tom Cruise battles a god in the new trailer for ‘The Mummy’

The Mummy - Poster #2

The Mummy returns from the dead to battle Tom Cruise.

Early in December, Universal released the very first trailer for The Mummy. But ever since then things have been quiet on The Mummy front. Well, wait no more. After revealing the trailer to the CinemaCon crowd last week, it has finally made its way online. Check it out!

This adaptation looks scarier than the previous Brendan Fraser iteration. Whether the film is as fun or successful as the Brendan Fraser films remain to be seen.

One thing’s for sure, the reboot will kickstart the Universal Monsters Cinematic Universe. Dr. Jekyll’s “Nick Fury” character will bring together Dracula, Frankenstein’s monster, the Mummy, the Wolf Man, the Creature from the Black Lagoon, and the Invisible Man. These films will culminate with a battle against the biggest monster hunter of them all: Van Helsing.

The Mummy stars Tom Cruise as Nick Morton, Annabelle Wallis as Jenny Halsey, and Sofia Boutella as Princess Ahmanet. The film also stars Jack Johnson, Courtney B. Vance, and Russell Crowe as Dr. Jekyll.

Thought safely entombed in a tomb deep beneath the unforgiving desert, an ancient princess whose destiny was unjustly taken from her is awakened in our current day, bringing with her malevolence grown over millennia and terrors that defy human comprehension.

The Mummy scares up theaters on June 9th.
