Microsoft announces a new $10 monthly gaming service for Xbox one

This spring, Microsoft will be rolling out a new gaming subscription service known as the Xbox One Game Pass. This new service will give Xbox One owners the ability to download and play from more than 100 different Xbox One and Xbox 360 backward compatible titles for only $9.99 a month.

With the Xbox One Game Pass you download and play the games you want directly into your Xbox One and enjoy with games being added on a monthly basis, and even some games “sometimes” being removed. If you delete a title or if it’s eventually removed, you still retain the save data and if you choose you can also purchase the game at a 20% discount and permanently adding it to your Xbox Library.

Games included at launch will include: Halo 5, Mad Max, NBA 2k16, Mega Man Anniversary Collection, Gears of Wars Ultimate Edition and more. While the service is set to launch in Spring, Microsoft will be inviting select members of the Xbox Insider Program to test out the service beginning today, followed by Xbox Live Gold members before launching the service to all Xbox One owners.

Most importantly you won’t need to have an active Xbox Live Gold to enjoy the new service, however, you will still need Gold in order to play multiplayer games.
