Guillermo Del Toro says Hellboy 3 is dead

Hellboy is one of those cult classic films that comic book fans everywhere, want more of. With the success of the first Hellboy film, followed by the not quite as successful sequel, Hellboy II: The Golden Army, Guillermo  has been very outspoken about his films. Doing everything he could to make a third film, Del Toro took to Twitter to finally drop the sad news that there will not be another sequel:

With nearly 2,100 retweets and counting, many fans have taken to twitter to show their sadness and support of the films, but it seems the powers that be have silently spoken, similar to the ending of the Hellboy comics, where he simply was just laid to rest.

Synopsis: At the end of World War II, the Nazis attempt to open a portal to a paranormal dimension in order to defeat the Allies, but are only able to summon a baby demon who is rescued by Allied forces and dubbed “Hellboy” (Ron Perlman). Sixty years later, Hellboy serves as an agent in the Bureau of Paranormal Research and Defense, where he, aided by Abe Sapien (Doug Jones), a merman with psychic powers, and Liz Sherman (Selma Blair), a woman with pyrokinesis, protects America against dark forces.
