Is Red Dead Redemption 2 coming this October?
Rockstar has already revealed that Red Dead Redemption 2 is coming Fall 2017, but the thing we’re not sure about is the actual release date. UK retailer Littlewoods has posted a pre-order for the game with a delivery date of “02/10/2017” or October 2nd. (It has now been updated to 29/12/2017.)
Was the original delivery date a sign of the actual release date, or was it a temporary date? Retailers have given hints to a game’s actual release before; for example, Mass Effect: Andromeda‘s official release date of March 21st was leaked thanks to a companion book that had the same release date, back when it was revealed in October of last year (via PCGamer).
The October 2nd date is still suspect since it lands on a Monday. Games usually release on a Tuesdays or Friday. Rockstar has released its games on a Tuesday and a Friday. Grand Theft Auto V for the PS3 and Xbox 360 was released worldwide on September 13, 2013, which was on a Tuesday. The PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions were released worldwide on Tuesday, November 18, 2014. The first Red Dead Redemption was released in North America on Tuesday, May 18, 2010, with Europe getting it on Friday, May 21st.
Even if the date is off, many gamers should be happy that the Western game will finally be available this year.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is coming this fall for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
