Carrie Fisher suffers cardiac arrest, hospitalized [Updating]

Update 12/25 2:30pm: Carrie Fisher’s mother Debbie Reynolds posted a Twitter update on Fisher’s condition. She is currently stable.


Update 12/23 6:10pm: Fisher is not stable and had been in the ICU, according to Fisher’s brother Todd via ET.

He told them, “She is in the intensive care unit, she is being well looked after. If everyone could just pray for her that would be good. The doctors are doing their thing and we don’t want to bug them. We are waiting by patiently.”

Little is known about her condition. He tells ET, “We don’t know. We hope for the best. We certainly do not know her condition, that’s why she is in ICU. I’m sure everyone wants to speculate, but now is not the time for that.”

The AP report was a misquote.

Update 4:03 pm: According to Carrie Fisher’s brother, Todd Fisher, to AP, Fisher is now in stable condition. No further details were shared.

Update 3:51 pm: TMZ has released the EMS call.

Update 2:48 pm: According to TMZ, Fisher is currently at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center on a ventilator.

Update 2:32 pm: Carrie Fisher is currently in hospitalized and in critical condition via LA Times. According to NBC News, law enforcement officials said her condition was “not good.”

United Airlines released the following statement:

Medical personnel met United flight 935 from London to Los Angeles upon arrival today after the crew reported that a passenger was unresponsive. Our thoughts are with our customer at this time and any requests for additional information should be directed to local authorities.

Carrie Fisher has suffered a cardiac arrest on her flight from London to LAX this Friday afternoon.

According to TMZ, Fisher went into cardiac arrest fifteen minutes before the plane landed in LAX. An EMT on the flight administered CPR. She was taken to the hospital upon landing. There have been no updates since her admission to the hospital.

Actors Anna Akana and Brad Gage were on the same flight as Fisher. They tweeted the following:

Fisher, known famously for her role as Princess Leia in the Star Wars Trilogy, was returning from London for her book tour The Princess Diarist.
