After teasing the trailer earlier this week, Universal premiered the trailer during tonight’s Sunday Night Football game between the Carolina Panther and the Seattle Seahawks. Shortly thereafter, the trailer has been posted online for everyone to see. Check it out!

Alex Kurtzman’s The Mummy is the first step in Universal’s ambitious monster universe where Universal’s classic monsters will ultimately come together to face-off against the biggest monster hunter of them all, Van Helsing, in the Van Helsing film. Joining the team is the Invisible Man (Johnny Depp), Frankenstein’s monster (Javier Bardem), Dracula, the Wolf Man, the Creature from the Black Lagoon, and The Mummy (Sofia Boutella).

Judging by the first trailer, The Mummy looks like to be a genuinely refreshing take on the franchise, offering a much more thrilling and terrifying ride than the Brendan Frasier iterations.

The Mummy stars Tom Cruise, Annabelle Wallis (“Peaky Blinders”), Jake Johnson (Jurassic World), Courtney B. Vance (FX’s “American Crime Story: The People V. O.J. Simpson”), Sofia Boutella (Star Trek Beyond) and Russell Crowe (The Nice Guys).

Thought safely entombed in a tomb deep beneath the unforgiving desert, an ancient princess whose destiny was unjustly taken from her is awakened in our current day, bringing with her malevolence grown over millennia and terrors that defy human comprehension.

The Mummy scares theaters on June 9, 2017.
