Here’s the first real look at Scarlett Johansson’s Major in the Ghost in the Shell trailer


After releasing multiple teaser clips back in September, we finally have our first look at Rupert Sanders’ Ghost in the Shell. Earlier today, Paramount held a Ghost in the Shell event in Tokyo that saw the premiere of the first teaser trailer for the live-action adaptation of Ghost in the Shell. Soon after the official trailer hit the Internet and we got it right here for you. There’s a lot of see here from the cyberpunk setting and intense action, and fans of the original anime will notice a few iconic shots from the anime slipped into the trailer. Check it out!

Ghost in the Shell is directed by Rupert Sanders (Snow White and the Huntsman) and stars Scarlett Johannson (Captain America: Civil War), Pilou Asbæk (HBO’s “Game of Thrones”), Takeshi Kitano (Ryuza and his Seven Henchmen), Juliette Binoche (Godzilla), and Michael Pitt (HBO’s “Boardwalk Empire”).

Based on the internationally-acclaimed sci-fi property, “GHOST IN THE SHELL” follows Major, a special ops, one-of-a-kind human-cyborg hybrid, who leads the elite task force Section 9. Devoted to stopping the most dangerous criminals and extremists, Section 9 is faced with an enemy whose singular goal is to wipe out Hanka Robotic’s advancements in cyber technology.

Ghost in the Shell hits theaters on March 31, 2017.
