The Uncharted movie has been having some bad luck… like a lot. There have been directors attached to the project like David O. Russell attachedNeil Burger, and Seth Gordon; however, they have all left. Now we have a new director, Shawn Levy (Real Steel, “Stranger Things”) joining, according to Deadline. This will help speed up the film’s progress to hitting the theaters.

Levy will be working on the project from a script by Joe Carnahan (The Grey, Smokin’ Aces).

And for those wondering about Stranger Things, he’ll be continue to direct some episodes for the second season on Netflix.

Uncharted is based on the video game franchise from Naughty Dog. It follows Nathan Drake, a cocky and charming adventurer who seeks the next big treasure. Uncharted: A Thief’s End, the fourth and last game of the series, has Drake struggling with his relationship with his wife, Elena, and his habit of getting into trouble, thanks to his brother (Troy Baker).
