Dark Tower movie trailer gets leaked

Dark Tower

I love Stephen King. I’ll say it again, I LOVE Stephen King! He is one of my absolute favorite people, and when I heard his book Dark Tower was going to be made into a film, I was really excited.

Although a lot of books and previous existing franchises are getting picked up, a lot of the films have not really become fan favorites. In some cases, they’re not even good at all. Most of the reason this ends up happening is because things are changed, such as in the script, some things aren’t true to the story, etc. For Dark Tower, there are things that have been changed from the book for the film, as it’s been confirmed that the film will feel more like a sequel to the story opposed to a replica. Many may think this is bad news, but I think we must realize that it happens. Accept it for what it is (Unless it’s just downright awful)! Regardless, I’m excited to see what it will be like.

We got confirmation that a trailer would be released on October 29th. With only a few weeks away, a leak version has made its way across the internet. It was accidentally uploaded to Sony’s YouTube page by accident, and although it has now been taken down, it’s been passed around all over the web. Rumor has it that a lot of cool stuff hadn’t been completed yet, and a lot of stuff was changed, but Idris Elba pretty much nails his part. Although the studio is cracking down on getting the trailer removed from various sources, I’m sure you can find it some where!

For me, I think I’ll keep my hype up a little bit longer and wait until the official trailer is released. But if you saw it, what did you think? Are you excited for Dark Tower? I can tell you one thing I’m ecstatic for: Matthew McConaughey.

If you’re unsure what the plot of the book is, check out the official synopsis, via Wikipedia:

In the story, Roland Deschain is the last living member of a knightly order known as gunslingers and the last of the line of “Arthur Eld”, his world’s analogue of King Arthur. Politically organized along the lines of a feudal society, it shares technological and social characteristics with the American Old West but is also magical. Many of the magical aspects have vanished from Mid-World, but traces remain as do relics from a technologically advanced society. Roland’s quest is to find the Dark Tower, a fabled building said to be the nexus of all universes. Roland’s world is said to have “moved on”, and it appears to be coming apart at the seams. Mighty nations have been torn apart by war, entire cities and regions vanish without a trace and time does not flow in an orderly fashion. Sometimes, even the sun rises in the north and sets in the east. As the series opens, Roland’s motives, goals and age are unclear, though later installments shed light on these mysteries.
