Star Wars: The Old Republic – Knights of the Eternal Throne (trailer)

Hot on the trails of the conclusion to Star Wars: The Old Republic – Knights of the Fallen Empire, BioWare surprised fans of the MMO that the next expansion, Knights of the Eternal Throne, was coming in only months after the release of the chapter where your character faced-off against Prince Arcann and the Eternal Empire.

Unveiled yesterday, this trailer called “Betrayed” also serves as the introduction cinematic for Knights of the Eternal Throne and centers around Senya (mother of Prince Thexann, Prince Arcann, and Princess Valyn) and Valyn. Throughout the Knights of the Fallen Empire, Valyn was a secondary antagonist and you don’t know much about her or any of the family (aside from Senya) who were all trying to kill you as the Hero of the Galaxy, but it looks like Valyn is taking center stage now that her brother is out of the way. If there was any indication of her power and character in Knights of the Fallen Empire, Valyn has only used a small fraction of it.

If there is one thing I truly admire about these cinematics commissioned by BioWare for Star Wars: The Old Republic, it is their amazing fight choreography (the best fight choreography beyond any Star Wars film or fan film). The way Senya uses her lightsaber is smart– I mean, turning her saber on and off in a split second to stab an enemy? We’ve only seen that in very few instances and in memes!
