If you wanted to know more about Yoda- one of the most iconic characters in pop culture- now’s your chance. Recently, Marvel started publishing Star Wars comics once again, to coincide with The Force Awakens, and issue 26 of the simply titled Star Wars will delve deeper into the life of the small, but fierce, Jedi Master.

In the new issue, Luke Skywalker apparently will find a journal entry from Obi-Wan Kenobi recounting a chapter in Yoda’s long history. “You know, we’ve seen Yoda as the teacher, as the wise Jedi Master, but I wanted to see Yoda just as the Jedi,” series writer Jason Aaron said. “So this puts him on a very unusual adventure.” Aaron also says that creating a worthy adversary for Yoda wasn’t easy, but he believes that they “came up with an interesting answer to that question.”

Although the story will take place in the past, you won’t get to see Yoda as a child or a teenager, as cool as that concept may be. The story will predate The Phantom Menace, but not by much. “We do get a brief appearance by Qui-Gon and young Obi-Wan, so that’ll probably help date it,” Aaron said.

Issue 26, which includes art from Salvador Larroca, will hit shelves in December 2016. You can read it right around the time Rogue One: A Star Wars Story premieres, December 16, 2016.
