Actor Jamie Dornan, famous for his role as Christian Grey in the controversial 2015 film Fifty Shades of Grey, is in talks to play Will Scarlett in Lionsgate’s upcoming movie, Robin Hood: Origins, according to Variety. Scarlett is Robin Hood’s half-brother, and a member of Little John’s group of Merry Men, according to the books.

Dornan will join other up-and-coming actors, including Kingsman: The Secret Service‘s Taron Egerton, who will play Robin Hood, and The Knick‘s Eve Hewson, who will play Maid Marian. Veteran actor Jamie Foxx will join the young cast as Little John.

There have been several films made based on the adventures of Robin Hood, the most recent being 2010’s Robin Hood, directed by Ridley Scott, and starring Russell Crowe as the titular character. The new film will be set in Sherwood Forest and follow Robin Hood as he returns from the Crusades, forming a band of outlaws to fight corruption.

The film will be directed by Otto Bathurst and written by Joby Harold, and produced by Leonardo DiCaprio’s Appian Way, as well as Safehouse Productions and Thunder Road Pictures. Robin Hood: Origins will be released some time in 2017, and you can see Dornan in the two Fifty Shades sequels, which will hit theaters in 2017 and 2018.
