PS4 4.0 update release date announced

According to a new PlayStation Blog post, Sony will roll out the 4.0 software update for PlayStation 4 on Tuesday, September 13th.

Announced last month and codenamed Shingen, the update for the PS4 will bring a variety of new features, such as a fresh take on the UI and folders. However, the company unveiled a few more changes on the PlayStation Blog.

For example, the PS4 4.0 update will include HDR compatibility for all systems, as we found out during the new PS4 Pro presentation. Sony also states the update includes features for the recently announced PlayStation 4 Pro, like 1080p streaming and live broadcasting on YouTube and Twitch. A music section will also be added to the Quick Menu.
