Domino’s test drives ‘Drone Delivery’ in New Zealand

drone delivery

I feel as though we’ve reached the pinnacle of human invention. Everything leading up to now was just an effort to get jobs done with as little to no work as possible. Pizza delivery by drone. What more could people ask for? Well, a lot actually, but I feel this is pretty close.

Over in New Zealand, they’re going to be rolling out Drone Deliveries starting September 26th. Scott Bush, a Domino’s general manager, says:

“It doesn’t add up to deliver a two kilogram package in a two-ton vehicle,”

“In Auckland, we have such massive traffic congestion it just makes sense to take to the airways.”

Granted the drone laws over there state that a drone can’t fly past a person’s eyesight, so there will still need to be a human operator standing by. Wonder how long before it reaches over here in the States?

What do you say to describe a guy who only sleeps 4 days out of the week? Probably a lot but if you ever see an obscure story about some kind of food product, indie game or something that doesn't quite fit on this site, you can (almost) guarantee this guy wrote it. Whether or not he was awake while it was written is anybody's guess.
