Marvel announces Inhumans vs X-Men comic book event

The stories have been leading to this conflict for the last year or so, but now it’s official: the X-Men and the Inhumans will go to war with each other in a new comic book event, as announced during the “Marvel: Cup O’Joe” panel at Comic-Con International in San Diego. Inhumans vs X-Men, a six-issue limited series, will be written by Jeff Lemire and Charles Soule with art from Leinil Yu.

The event will see two of Marvel’s super-powered populations go head-to-head over the controversial Terrigen Mist. In recent comics, the mists within the Earth’s atmosphere have caused the emergence of new Inhumans. However, the same mist is harmful to mutants as it prevents the activation of the X-Gene, causes sterility and may lead to a degenerative disease known as “M-Pox”. Therefore, the event will see these two groups literally fight for their lives.

Inhumans vs X-Men is scheduled to begin sometime this Winter.
