The Witcher’s Gwent finally getting a standalone video game?

CD Projekt RED has filed a trademark with the EU Intellectual Property Office for “Gwent” – which could be an E3 announcement from the developer, as found by NerdLeaks.

For those familiar, or unfamiliar, with the world of The Witcher: Gwent is an in-game card game that is played by seemingly everyone in The Witcher 3.
With online card games being incredibly popular right now, it’s a move that makes a lot of sense for CD Projekt RED, as many people enjoy a game or several of Gwent in The Witcher 3.

During CD Projekt RED’s latest annual report, the developer confirmed that it had plans to announce “a new type of video game format, previously unexplored by the studio” at this year’s E3.

Gwent will likely be released on PC and console, but could even have a mobile release.

But what do you think? Do you play Gwent in The Witcher 3? Would you play a standalone version? Let us know below.

We’ll have more on Gwent, as well as other games, as they are revealed at E3.
