Disney’s Zootopia joins Captain America: Civil War in $1 billion club

Disney is on a roll this year with movies in 2016 crossing the $1 billion milestone at the box office. Captain America: Civil War was the first film of 2016 to cross it, and now Zootopia has joined the club yesterday. It’s the #1 animated film of the year so far and is the fourth highest-grossing animated film to cross the $1 billion mark.

Zootopia has grossed $337.2 million domestically and $663.5 million overseas for a total of over $1 billion.

As of now, the top 3 movies of 2016 are Disney films. (The Jungle Book is in third place with over $895 million.)

If you can’t wait to own a copy of Zootopia, it’ll be coming to Blu-ray, DVD and Digital on June 7th.
