Emotionally charged Deus Ex: Mankind Divided live-action trailer shows prejudice and hate

deus ex mankind divided live-action trailer

A new live-action trailer for Deus Ex: Mankind Divided was released yesterday, and it sets up the troublesome world where natural people fear those with augmented limbs and bodies.

The trailer bridges the gap between Deus Ex: Human Revolution and Mankind Divided, taking place in the year 2027. We see a major event involving mechanically-augmented people being hacked via a virus, causing them to attack others and causing millions of death. Because of that incident, the world has become divided with hatred, prejudice and fear, resulting in countries passing laws that treat augmented people like animals. One of the more striking laws is the “Human Restoration Act,” which separates “Augs” from “Naturals.”

The trailer, titled “Mechanical Apartheid,” captures the events that led to the world being divided while also focusing on a couple, an “Aug” and a “Natural” trying to find love.

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided will be available on August 23, 2016, on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
