Rumor: Could Jamie Bell take over Daniel Craig as the next James Bond?

Although it’s not entire official yet, all signs are pointing towards Daniel Craig leaving the franchise that made him an international star. Deadline is reporting that Craig and Katherine Heigl are in final negotiations to join Steven Soderbergh’s NASCAR heist film which will begin filming in the Fall. This move puts Craig’s willingness to return to question, but it’s being reported both parties will likely not negotiate deals until later this year.

Will he return, though? The actor has been very vocal about not wanting to do another Bond, including his much-publicized slashing wrists quote. If he doesn’t return then Jamie Bell (Fantastic Four) might be the guy that EON is looking for. Bell has discussed the Bond role with his Film Stars Don’t Die producer Barbara Broccoli (who has long produced the Bond films).

Jamie Bell is just one of the long list of rumored actors attached to replace Daniel Craig should he opt to leave the role. Actors such as Tom Hiddleston, Tom Hardy, Idris Elba, and even Gillian Anderson has thrown her name in the role as well. But until it becomes official, the Daniel Craig/James Bond stay-or-go watch will still be in full effect.
