Absolver, billed as an “online combat RPG” has been revealed via a new trailer. It shows off cell-shaded characters, combat, and weapons from the upcoming game, which has some considerable talent behind it in the form of ex-Watch Dogs and Ghost Recon developers at Ubisoft.

The game’s developer, Devolve Digital, has stated that the game will feature both PvP and PvE elements, allowing players to create powerful teams and take on dungeons, as well as taking on each other. The game is set in a fantastical land known as the Adal Empire, and with no firearms in sight, players will have to rely on their hand-to-hand combat skills and melee weapons in order to emerge victorious.

The game will be shown at E3, where it will be playable by the media and public for the first time. Devolve Digital are also revealing the game with a livestream via Twitch at 1am BST on June 14.

Absolver is coming to PC and consoles in 2017.
