Joss Whedon says he’ll return to Marvel if he can do all-female Avengers movie

A-Force female Avengers

Joss Whedon has directed The Avengers and Avengers: Age of Ultron, and it seems like he’s not in a hurry to come back to Marvel Studios with another movie, especially when he admitted that he had a tough time with Avengers: Age of Ultron and said that he wanted to focus on personal projects. However, never say never.

In an interview with The Wrap, Whedon was asked if he’d return to Marvel Studios to direct an all-female Avengers movie. (A-Force debuted in 2015 and featured female members of The Avengers led by She-Hulk.)

“Yeah, of course,” Whedon said. “Although I tend more towards the Jessica Jones-ey kind of stories than the delightful Supergirl stories that my daughter wants.”

As for female superheroes, Whedon is excited about the upcoming Captain Marvel film.

“Kevin Feige fought a mighty fight to get her on the schedule. So it’s a start. You could say that should be a middle, but it’s a start,” he said.

Would you like to see Whedon’s take on an all-female Avengers movie? If so, who would you like to see in the team? Captain Marvel? Wasp? She-Hulk? Perhaps Medusa?
