Mark Ruffalo discusses roles of Hulk and Hela in Thor: Ragnarok

When Thor: Ragnarok hits theaters next year, we’ll finally get to see Mark Ruffalo star in a non-Avengers film within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, considering this is Thor’s movie, one may wonder about the type of role Ruffalo’s Hulk will have in the story. While doing press for Now You See Me 2, Ruffalo addressed this issue.

“I think it’ll be smashing. You’ll see a lot more Hulk in this one,” Ruffalo said.

His¬†Now You See Me 2 co-star Woody Harrelson then cut in, asking, “Does The Hulk get Hulk-ier?”

To which Ruffalo replied, “The Hulk gets Hulk-ier. The Hulk Hulks out. Hulk-ier and bigger.”

Recently, it was announced that two-time Oscar winner Cate Blanchett would be playing Hela, the Asgardian Goddess of Death. Entertainment Tonight‘s Lauren Zima asked Ruffalo about her role in the film.

“She plays the worst of the worst. So evil,” Ruffalo teased. “She is going to kill us. It’s such a great part she gets to play.”

Ruffalo concluded by describing the film as “an intergalactic buddy road movie with Banner and Thor.”

Returning co-stars Tom Hiddleston, Idris Elba and Sir Anthony Hopkins will be joined by Blanchett as well as Jeff Goldblum, Tessa Thompson and Karl Urban, who will play Grandmaster, Valkyrie and Skurge respectively.

Thor: Ragnarok will be directed by Oscar-nominated filmmaker Taika Waititi and released on November 3, 2017.
