The Gala will happen on Wednesday, July 20th, the same day as SDCC’s preview night.

“We’re partnering with Comic-Con and are going to do our premiere in San Diego,” Lin told the crowd. “I believe it’s going to be the first time ever IMAX outdoors. We’ll have a full orchestra.”

Comic-Con confirmed the news moments later on the event’s official site. “This first-ever outdoor IMAX premiere event will include appearances by the film’s cast and crew and a live concert performance by the San Diego symphony orchestra.”
