New emotional Google VR animated short, Pearl, from the director of Disney’s short, Feast

If you have Google Cardboard and the YouTube app on Android (or the Google Spotlight Stories app on iOS), check out this emotional animated short, “Pearl,” from director Patrick Osborne. You may have seen his other emotional animated short, “Feast,” which played in front of Big Hero 6 and featured a dog helping his owner find love. “Pearl” is part of the Google Spotlight Stories where 360-degree stories can be experienced using your mobile phone and a compatible VR headset.

Synopsis: Set inside their home, a beloved hatchback, PEARL follows a girl and her dad as they crisscross the country chasing their dreams. It’s a story about the gifts we hand down, their power to carry love…and finding grace in the unlikeliest of places. The short is anchored by the original song, “No Wrong Way Home,” written by Alexis Harte & JJ Wiesler and performed by Kelley Stoltz and Nicki Bluhm.
