After X-Men 3: The Last Stand, the X-Men series went back to the ’60s with X-Men: First Class. It then jumped to the ’70s with Days of Future Past and the ’80s with Apocalypse. What’s next for the mutant team? According to producer Simon Kinberg, the next film will be set in the ’90s (via ComingSoon).

“The next one is set in the ’90s,” said Kinberg.

Was he referring to the X-Men film, or maybe the New Mutants or X-Force? I’m going to guess X-Men.

It’s likely that we’ll get to Sophie Turner, Tye Sheridan, and Alexandra Shipp reprising their roles as Jean Grey, Cyclops and Storm, respectively.

In the meantime, you can check out X-Men: Apocalypse when it hits theaters on May 27th. You can check out our review here.
