CyberConnect 2 teases new project Venom

With the last Naruto Ninja Storm title behind it, Japanese developer CyberConnect2 is already looking at new horizons. CC2 president and CEO Hiroshi Matsuyama spoke with Famitsu about a brand new game that will be their first completely original title with the codename Venom.

Details on the new game are sparse, but judging from the early concept art released, there is an intense resemblance of Ghibli surrounding it. The genre is shooting action with a release date of next year.

CC2 has previously maintained a close working relationship with Bandai Namco, having developed the entire franchise of the .hack// series and a slew of licensed NARUTO and Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure fighting games. It also developed the stylish and epic Asura’s Wrath for Capcom. Currently it is one of the co-developers for Square-Enix’s upcoming Final Fantasy VII remake.
