‘Batman: The Killing Joke’ announces Blu-ray release date!

As critics and fans continue to swirl around in debate around the recent and unique installment in the DC Cinematic Universe, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, opinions and insults fly like Batarangs all over social media and media outlets. Despite all this, however, one thing that both sides can agree on is this: we can’t wait for Batman: The Killing Joke. As one of the most interesting and thought-provoking graphic novels ever created in the DC franchise, it seemed to be just a dream to see the story brought to life on the big screen, and an even bigger one to see it done properly, but thanks to DC and Warner Bros., not only will we have a chance to see it, but now we have a release date!

In an exclusive announcement put out by EW, Warner Bros. reveals to the world the Blu-ray release date for the highly-anticipated R-rated movie adaptation of Alan Moore’s iconic graphic novel, Batman: The Killing Joke. The release will include a deluxe edition and combo pack Blu-ray of the film, which will be released August 2. Along with the film, it will include two 22-minute episodes from The New Batman Adventures and Batman: The Animated Series, plus some other awesome material such as two featurettes: Madness Set to Music, a documentary which chronicles the creation of the film’s storyboards and original score, and Many Shades of the Joker: The Tale of the Killing Joke, a making-of short that explores the distinct style of the graphic novel. As an added bonus, fans who purchase the combo pack Blu-ray edition will also receive a limited edition figurine of the Joker.

Digital HD versions of the film will be available through digital retailers on July 23.
