Walt Disney Animation Studio has done well with its recent animated film, Zootopia. It has been critically praised and just passed the $909 million mark at the worldwide box office. It’s expected to reach the $ 1 billion mark.

Right now it’s right behind Shrek 2 ($919 million) and joins Finding Nemo ($936.7 million), Despicable Me 2 ($970.8 million) and Lion King ($987.5 million) at the $900 million club. It’s the third-highest grossing Disney animated film behind The Lion King and Frozen ($1.276 billion).

Zootopia is the number 1 movie of 2016 worldwide, with Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice ($851 million) in second and Deadpool in third.

Disney is going to be raking in the money this year, especially with The Jungle Book’s current performance and the upcoming Captain America: Civil War, Alice Through the Looking Glass, Finding Dory, Pete’s Dragon, Doctor Strange, Moana, and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
