Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is now out in theaters, and it has been panned by critics and received split reactions from fans. The movie did well for its opening box office weekend, but it took a huge dive for its second and third weekend. Now that the movie has been out for a while, Jesse Eisenberg, who played Lex Luthor, is chiming in.

Eisenberg’s take on Lex Luthor is definitely a different take on what fans are used to, and the actor has explained to MTV News that those who didn’t like his character’s shortcomings would have benefitted from another cut.

“It’s a very complicated mythology that I was able to wrap my head around while we were filming,” Eisenberg said during his promotion for Now You See Me 2. “But I think there were certain editorial choices that I was not aware of that they put in retroactively.”

Eisenberg says that a different cut of the film would have explained how he was able to create Doomsday and whether or not he was planning something with Darkseid, the villain that was hinted at in the film. Let’s see if the R-rated version will explain this.

However, Eisenberg has said that he never really watches films that he has been featured in, except for Zombieland. He had this to say about the film, however:

“Everybody I gave my tickets to to go see the movie at the movie premiere really liked it — including my parents.”
