Fans upset with new Warcraft trailer’s out-of-place music
The new trailer for the Warcraft movie is here, and it’s looking very epic. We have two warring factions, the Horde and the Alliance, and the main characters are stuck in the middle trying to find a way for peace.
The trailer features a lot of action. The part that got me the most excited was seeing magic spells being used to great effect.
The one thing that ruined the trailer for me was the out-of-place use of The Prodigy’s “The Day Is My Enemy”. I’m a fan of the band, especially with “Smack My Bitch Up,” “Firestarter” and “Breathe”, but adding a fast-paced electronic-rock track to a Warcraft trailer makes me scratch my head.
Fans and director Duncan Jones were also disappointed with the song choice in the trailer.
For those asking, no… music in the movie is not dubstep. It's magnificent Ramin score!
So why in the trailer? pic.twitter.com/gdBCCrClLe— Duncan Jones (@ManMadeMoon) April 19, 2016
@ManMadeMoon Yeah, visually the trailer is awesome. But that music takes me right out of it. This marketing campaign is confuzzling.

@ManMadeMoon then the marketing wizards need to be fired. did LOTR have dubstep in its trailers? sigh..

@ManMadeMoon Muted the trailer and put on some GoT music.
Was SOOOOOOOOO much better.

Yes, composer Ramin Djawadi is composing the score for Warcraft, and I think he’ll do a great job. I’m pretty sure you have heard of the Game of Thrones theme song. Yeah, he did that one.
The Warcraft movie hits theaters on June 10, 2016.
