Rumor: Will the next X-Men film adapt ‘The Dark Phoenix Saga’ again?

With X-Men: Apocalypse hitting theaters next month, many fans were wondering what would the next storyline be after Apocalypse? After all, Apocalypse is the strongest mutant that the X-Men has ever faced. The Thanos/Darkseid of the X-Men universe. If the X-Men defeated the strongest mutant of all then who will be next?

According to Heroic Hollywood, studio heads are mulling the idea of adapting “The Dark Phoenix Saga” (again) for the next X-Men film. Yes, “The Dark Phoenix Saga” was poorly adapted in X-Men: The Last Stand but now studios are mulling the idea of adapting it again or at least interested in using elements of the story.

In the comics, “The Dark Phoenix Saga” was a space-heavy adventure that incorporated a number of rarely-used elements of X-Men mythology, including the Shi’ar Empire. With the success of Guardians of the Galaxy will we see Empress Lilandra and the Shi’ar Empire in the Fox cinematic universe?

What do you think of the “The Dark Phoenix Saga” being adapted again? Sound off in the comments section below.
