James Gunn shows interest in two Marvel characters owned by Fox

In a recent live stream on his facebook page Guardians of the Galaxy director, James Gunn, stated that he would love to work with two of Marvel’s iconic villains. Unfortunately, the issue with these two villains is that they’re owned by Fox Studios. Recently, Fox had attempted to reboot the Fantastic Four franchise, but with disastrous results. It became one of the worst rated superhero movies to date on Rotten Tomatoes and the main consensus was that “nobody asked for this reboot”. James Gunn was asked about the Fantastic Four franchise and which characters he’d like to utilize in the next Guardians of the Galaxy movies and here’s his response.

I probably wouldn’t add Ben Grimm to the Guardians team even if they were a part of the MCU. And of course I would love the FF to be a part of the MCU…Fox owns so many great villains and cosmic characters I would love to play around with including Annihilus — and I think they own Kang.

Fox currently owns two of Marvel’s major properties and those would be the X-Men franchise along with the Fantastic Four franchise. These two sets include a variety of Marvel listed characters that include both heroes and villains alike. If  both Fox and Marvel Studios could somehow make nice with the use of the characters, then this would be a win-win situation for everyone. I personally feel that James Gunn should be able to access Galactus and Silver Surfer as well, but I guess we’ll just have to wait and see if our wishes only fall on deaf ears from both companies.
