Back in September Square Enix released the free-to-play RPG Kingdom Hearts: Unchained X (pronounced Chi) in Japan. It has now announced that the game would see a release in North America. The wait for the game won’t be long as it will see a release on Thursday, April 7th, for iOS and Android devices.

In Kingdom Hearts: Unchained X, players create their own Keyblade Wielder and fight various heartless enemies and bosses, prior to the start of the Keyblade Wars. Tetsuya Nomura noted that the free-to-play game will tie into the upcoming Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue special Kingdom Hearts X Back Cover, which is a story told by the “Foretellers” who gather Kingdom Hearts: Unchained X’s Keyblade Wielders.
