Zack Snyder Responds to Petition to Have Him Removed

attends the Warner Bros. presentation during Comic-Con International 2015 at the San Diego Convention Center on July 11, 2015 in San Diego, California.

With the split reviews and partially disappointed fanbase of Batman v Superman, there was a sudden outcry to have Zack Snyder removed from any future productions of the DCEU. If you’ve seen the fan wars taking place in most threads about BvS, you’d see that a large portion of them are DC fans arguing against other DC fans. BvS seemed to have created a civil war amongst its own fanbase and the petition to remove Zack Snyder seems to have been a terrible by-product of this.

Zack Snyder has finally come out to respond to this petition and I don’t think he’s that delighted to hear about it. Here’s what we attained from a podcast phone interview with Snyder after asking him about the petition.

Listen, I love DC. I really do. But sometimes I think the fanbase can be fickle little children. I… [scoff] I go out there and do my damned best to give these people what they want and they shit all over me. First they say there’s too much action and not enough story in Man of Steel. They also wanted Injustice, TDKR, Flashpoint, and Doomsday – Did I not deliver in Batman v Superman?! Then I hear that Batman is too much of a pussy and that he should just kill the Joker, so I introduced a better Batman!

I swear these whiney little babies want this or that, and when you give it to them, they complain more! And some of it isn’t even completley my fault! These fans don’t understand how many “suits” speak to me to add their own touch to the movie as well, so I have to find a happy medium for everyone! [breathing heavily] You know what? I think I should just go work with Marvel. I hear Ghost Rider is pretty dark and grim, maybe I’d do better over there. Feige! I’m giving you a ring! [phone hangs up]

Wow… sounds like he’s fired up. Can you blame him though? One thing remains is that Snyder is a talented man and you can’t take that away from him. But his talents aren’t going to convince all the critics and bitterness towards him after Batman v Superman. Just remember, he’s still human.
