If you’re a fan of fishing and virtual reality, get ready for Resolution Games’ Bait!, the first VR fishing game that’s now available for free on the Oculus VR Store for Samsung Gear VR.

We had a chance to demo the game during GDC last week, and it was a nice change of scenery from the busy event. The game features four different lakes for fishing ranging from a pleasant beach lake to a creepy swamp. There are many different types of fish, and you’ll be able to upgrade your rod at stores and go for that prize catch.

Fishing is very simple as you cast the fishing rod into the water and reel them in using just the touchpad on the Samsung Gear. Yep, no controller is needed. To aim where you want to cast the rod, simply move your head around until you find the right spot. It’s that easy.

How’s the VR experience? This was one of the first times I’ve used the Samsung Gear VR, and it feels very comfortable. The graphics are stylized, so don’t expect the triple AAA treatment here; however, I was able to feel immersed thanks it being a VR game.

The game is free at the Oculus VR store. For more info, visit https://www.facebook.com/baitgame/.
