Sega to make new Sonic announcement at SXSW

We’ve known for a while that Sega has some big plans for Sonic’s 25th Anniversary, but what those plans are is still a mystery. With Sonic Boom: Fire and Ice being the only Sonic game currently slated for a 2016 release, we may hear more about what Sega has in store for fans this year during the Sonic panel next weekend at SXSW.

The Sonic panel will feature a few special guests including Sonic creator Yuji Naka, Head of Sonic Team Takashi Iizuka, Sonic’s current voice actor Roger Craig Smith, along with the Mike Pollock who has been the voice Dr. Eggman since 2003. It’s unknown if the reveal will be a new Sonic game or a possible special event held in the future, but we will know on March 19th.

25 years had to go fast, and here we are today wondering where it all went. Join the original creator of Sonic the Hedgehog, along with the amazing production heads responsible for bringing the franchise to life, for an in-depth analysis of where Sonic came from and where he’s heading going forward.
