There are many fans who aren’t happy with the upcoming live-action Ghost in the Shell movie starring Scarlett Johansson. Here’s one casting report I’m sure many fans won’t have a problem with. According to Cinema Today, actor Beat Takeshi (Battle Royale, Zatōichi) will be playing Public Security Section 9 founder and chief Daisuke Aramaki.

The film is based on the manga and anime of the same name and follows Major Kusanagi, a cyborg agent working for Section 9, an elite team that deals with cyber-terrorism.

He’ll be joining Johansson (The Avengers), Pilou Asbæk (“The Borgias”), Michael Pitt (“Boardwalk Empire”) and Sam Riley (Maleficent).

The film will be directed by Rupert Sanders (Snow White and the Huntsman) from a screenplay by Jonathan Herman (Straight Outta Compton). Jamie Moss and William Wheeler worked as the previous screenwriters.

Ghost in the Shell hits theaters on March 31, 2017.
