Will Liev Schreiber come back as ‘Old Man Sabretooth’ in Wolverine 3?

There’s not many good things that came out of X-Men Origins: Wolverine, except for our first look at Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool, and maybe insight on Wolverine’s character. That’s about it. One thing that was kind of memorable for me though, was Liev Schreiber as Sabretooth. Sure, he didn’t look like the comic version, nor did they get any of his backstory right, but I liked the dynamic between Schreiber’s portrayal of the character and Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine. With the movie being such a flop, I figured that would be the last time we’d ever see Schreiber in that role. Or so I thought.

At the recent Academy Awards, MTV spoke with Schreiber on the red carpet regarding Wolverine 3 and he had a few interesting things to say. In reference to a conversation with Hugh Jackman, Schreiber said, “We talked about it. I don’t know. He’s mentioned it to me. The Old Man Logan story — that’s appealing. That’s something that I can do. Old, being the operative word.

With the overall greater success that The Wolverine had, it’s going to be interesting if he was to return. I’d actually welcome that, as I think he’s a great actor and did the part well. Not to mention that the next iteration will be Rated R, so I think that gives room to really flex his ability as the character and not be subdued. Looks like we’ll have to wait and see what happens.
