Stellan Skarsgard will be absent from Thor: Ragnarok

Stellan Skarsgard has been in two Thor films and one Avengers film. With Thor: Ragnarok coming to theaters in 2017, it looks like he’s not going to be making an appearance alongside Thor again. Don’t fret yet, since we could possibly see him return as Dr. Erik Selvig in another Marvel film. During an interview with Den of Geek, Skarsgard has revealed that he could be making an appearance in Avengers: Infinity War.

“I have a five-film deal with them, and they still have one option,” he tells the outlet. “Thor 3 is not on my slate, but maybe the next Avengers.”

Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, who wrote the screenplays for Captain America: The Winter Soldier and the upcoming Captain America: Civil War, will be penning the script for both part 1 and 2 of Avengers: Infinity War with Anthony and Joe Russo directing.

Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 hits theaters on May 4, 2018, and Part 2 on May 3, 2019.
