Studios have been more courageous as of late with Fox releasing an R-rated Deadpool and Marvel banking on an obscure superhero team known as the Guardians of the Galaxy. Warner Bros. has also been adventurous by following in Marvel’s footsteps by having its DC superheroes exist in the same universe. Warner Bros. has released an R-rated comic book film before with Watchmen, but this time, it looks like it’s going to release an R-rated version of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice when it hits Blu-ray, according to StitchKingdom and FilmRatings.

The R-rated version contains “sequences of violence.” The original cut of Batman v Superman was rated R, but of course, Warner Bros. wanted the film to be PG-13 for a theatrical release.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is directed by Zack Snyder and stars Ben Affleck as Batman, Henry Cavill as Superman, and Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman. The movie hits theaters on March 25, 2016.
