Kevin Smith, Jason Mewes, and Interabang Entertainment have announced today that they’re working on a video game starring Jay and Silent Bob titled Jay and Silent Bob: Chronic Blunt Punch. To help make the game a reality, they have launched a crowdfunding campaign on Fig.co, a site that helps fans, investors and developers by providing a more balanced and sustainable approach to game development.

So why can’t the big publishers help with this game? Well, they’re okay with bloody and gory games, but according to the team, sideboob and pot is a big no-no.

The funding goal for the game is $400,000, and you can invest via the Game Shares (offered by Fig Publishing) or via traditional backing with rewards offered by Interabang.

Jay and Silent Bob: Chronic Blunt Punch will be a side-scrolling 2.5D, over-the-top multiplayer tag-team brawler. The team didn’t want Jay to just shout out random obscenities, so they decided on building a conversation system that will feel like a fighting game. Instead of throwing a fireball to lower the enemy’s health, you’ll be throwing obscenities to lower your enemy’s self worth.

Synopsis: In Jay and Silent Bob: Chronic Blunt Punch, players get into a tag team combo fight fest and wreak havoc on their foes with fists, feet, and the magic of self-esteem-destroying jibes while embarking on a mission to find their long-lost pot customers trapped in an Orwellian mega super shopping mall. The mall turns out to be a Utopian labyrinth with apartments, restaurants, hospitals and everything that a post-World War II nuclear bunker would contain—with a candy coating of fun.
