Next Magic the Gathering set announced

Today Wizards of the Coast has officially announced some information as to the name of the set that is going to take place as set number two in the Shadows over Innistrad block of the popular trading card game. The official name is going to be Eldritch Moon. The release date is July 22, 2016,  and both the image released and logo itself are pretty haunting.According to

According to Merriam-Webster, the word eldritch means Weird or Eerie. The image released is of the necromancer planeswalker, Liliana Vess, raising an army of undead. The themes and fonts we see here are exactly what we would expect from a storyline that stems from the plane of Innistrad.

My personal hope is that the storyline of Eldrazi creatures will not end with Oath of the Gatewatch, and that we will see the foreboding colorless titans crossover into the plane of Innistrad to wage war with the likes of Demons, Angels, and Werewolves. We may be able to speculate that this is in fact the case due to the use of the specific word ELDRitch potentially being chosen because of its similarity to the word ELDRazi. The official press release and scheduled information can be found on Wizards of the Coast official website. For more MTG news, reviews and reactions, be sure to check Nerd Reactor often!
