Fox and Disney dominate list of Super Bowl ads, but Batman v Superman will be a no-show

Get ready for a massive helping of Deadpool during this year’s Super Bowl. Not only will there be a TV spot during the game, but also Ryan Reynolds will be commandeering a food truck and giving away free chimichangas on Friday. In addition, Fox is bringing Independence Day: Resurgence, X-Men: Apocalypse, and Eddie the Eagle to the game as well. If you’re around the area, look for several on-the-ground events for those titles as well as appearances by some of the cast members for Independence Day and X-Men.

Disney will also have a major presence during the Super Bowl and pre-game show, although it’s unknown which films Disney will be advertising. Its upcoming slate of films includes Zootopia (March 4), The Jungle Book (April 15), Captain America: Civil War (May 6), Alice Through the Looking Glass (May 27), Finding Dory (June 17), and of course, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (December 16).

Universal Pictures have also bought spots during the big game, but, like Disney, has not disclosed which titles they’ll be promoting during the event. Their upcoming slate of films includes The Huntsman Winter’s War (April 22), Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising (May 20), and Bourne 5 (August 8).

Paramount will be advertising Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows during the game.

Unfortunately, Sony and Warner Bros will be sitting on the bench during this year’s Super Bowl, which means that there won’t be any spots for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice or Suicide Squad. However, there is a possibility that a promotional partner could plug Batman v Superman, and the cast may attend, so that’s something.

What are you looking forward to during this year’s Super Bowl?
